Summer is here and it’s a perfect time to learn how to skate!
Practice the fundamentals of skateboarding and gain confidence in your skateboarding abilities.
These introductory lessons are a valuable way to experience skateboarding in a supportive, fun, and safe environment. Lessons are conducted by the founder of Kateboards. Kate has been on wheels since she was a kid and has a passion for making skateboarding more approachable and inclusive. She has been teaching private lessons in Encinitas for 8 years. She is ready to meet you where you are on your skate journey and excited to help you feel comfortable on your board!
Lesson Details: for you to feel comfortable and encouraged through the process of learning to skateboard. We focus on the fundamentals of skateboarding including: balance, proper weight distribution, board control, proper kick/push technique, and how to comfortably slow down + brake. The goal is for you to have a solid foundation to enjoy skateboarding and progress with good habits while receiving real-time supportive feedback.
Skateboarding gives us the opportunity, and it requires us, to be present with ourselves, and our surroundings. It is a healthy outlet to enjoy life more and connect with yourself + others. With these lessons, and with Kateboards as a whole, we want to help you harness the courage it takes to get involved in skateboarding and apply the confidence + joy you gain from it to other areas of your life.
The goal is to have you leave the lesson with a smile on your face and feeling more comfortable in your skateboarding abilities.
Scheduling - please view the calendar below. The Summer schedule is set for Tuesday - Thursday. But, if you do not see a time that will work for you, or you need to schedule on a different day please email: info@kateboards.com
Pricing :
Private 1:1 - $75/hour (to be paid day of lesson)
Semi-private (2-3 people) - $55/each for a single 1 hour lesson (to be paid day of lesson)
Required : Helmet. Wrist guards + elbow pads + knee pads are highly encouraged. We recommend Protec pads.
